Nothing irks us more than BS online reviews. The challenge is it’s extremely difficult to tell which reviews are paid for by the brand. So, we decided to do something a bit drastic. We researched a mascara with a good online reputation (Benefits Cosmetics Roller Lash mascara) and then sent 35 people who have no affiliation with the brand, the mascara to test.

“I prefer a thicker coat. Even if it is just one coat. I don’t want to have to spend alot of time reapplying coats of mascara. I don’t think I can recommend this product.”
“I love how it lifts and adds volume to my lashes. Also, love how it smells. I don’t like that it clumps and I don’t feel like the curvature of the wand helps much in the application.”
“The product was easy to remove, but stained my makeup remover cloth. I liked the ease as to applying and removing. Looked great with one coat. Was an all day long with no smudging.”

“I would be somewhat likely to recommend this mascara, because I like that this mascara adds fullness and length to my lashes, without being too heavy or thick. I like that my lashes still look natural after applying the mascara. The only issue I had with this mascara was that I did have some clumps while applying, and I did have to separate some lashes after application because they stuck together. I would also prefer that the mascara brush was straight instead of curved, because it’s easier to apply. Overall, I do like how this mascara looks on my lashes.”
“I am rating this mascara at a very HIGH rating because I absolutely LOVE it !!! This is my new go to mascara 100 percent !! My photos are just from 1 pass, imagine if I did 2 or 3 passes with it !! I absolutely love how intense this black it! The brush itself is just so easy to use, it just glides through your lashes so effortlessly and is soft ! I feels very lightweight on your lashes but definitely gives you maximum volume and color !!! This mascara is definitely very long lasting it stayed on till the very next morning without looking messed up at all! I’m in love with this mascara and I definitely recommend this product if you have not tried it yet, because you will fall in love just how I did and it will become your go to mascara!! 15 out of 10!!”
“This was the best mascara I have used in a long time. First my lashes are sparse. What a difference this product made.The roller brush on this product seemed to really grab each individual lash as the mascara was applied. I really tried to make it clump during the application, but it just would not clump. The brush was uniquely shaped to apply the mascara perfectly. I did not need an eyelash curler or a comb separator after applying. I was very satisfied with the results. It did not make my eyes irritated. It wiped off easily with a simple make-up wipe. Overall, this was an excellent product that I will purchase when my sample is gone.”
